The therapeutic relationship: A two-way account of therapy — Michael White

$9.00

This groundbreaking paper questions the taken-for-granted ‘one-way’ account of therapy in which it is understood that the therapists possesses a therapuetic knowledge that is applied to the life of the person who consults them, and this person is defined as the ‘other’ whose life is changed as an outcome of these therapeutic processes. It then proposes an alternative ‘two-way’ account of therapy and the possibilities that flow from this. This writing is an extract from the book ‘Narratives of Therapists’ Lives’ (Dulwich Centre Publications 1997)
