Skills, values and story cards — Compiled by Ola El-Hassan and Lobna Yassine in collaboration with young Muslims
These beautiful Skills, Values and Story Cards were created by Sydney-based social workers Ola El-Hassan and Lobna Yassine to address the lack of diversity in resources for generating conversations with young people from different cultural backgrounds. Initially developed for and with Muslim young people, they have now been used around the world with people from a range of cultural experiences and of different ages.
The cards can be used in one-to-one and group contexts, including in classrooms and counselling. They feature text and images on one side, and questions to prompt further conversation on the other side.
The cards were produced in partnership with Dulwich Centre Foundation and Bankstown Youth Development Service with students from Birrong Boys High school and Miller Technology High School.
