Linking spirituality and Christianity with narrative practice

This chapter includes three presentations in relation to spirituality and narrative practice. There are so many different spiritualities and religions across the African continent. We hope that in time that many further presentations can be included here from diverse traditions.

Narrative pastoral counselling with Tapiwa Mucherera (Zimbabwe/USA)

In Nduwayezu Anastase’s work with a Rwandan woman who had experienced significant hardship, externalising conversations with Grace enabled ‘trauma’ to be re-named and drawn as ‘The Darkness’. Narrative conversations which included honouring the role of God enable Grace to move out of the darkness and feel alive.
